What to know about 2025 WNBA draft, including how to watch, order of picks

by April 10, 2025
by April 10, 2025

The WNBA draft is one of the biggest nights for the league, with college basketball and international superstars taking their first steps into the pro game.

The Dallas Wings are first on the clock after winning the draft lottery despite holding just a 22.7% chance of being granted the first pick. The Wings, who finished 9-31 last season, are widely expected to select guard Paige Bueckers, who capped off a stellar collegiate career at UConn by guiding the Huskies to a national championship on Sunday.

The first round alone features plenty of points of intrigue. The Washington Mystics hold three of the first six selections, giving a team in need of an overhaul a chance to kickstart a new era. The Golden State Valkyries, who will debut as an expansion team this season, are currently set to make their first-ever draft pick with the No. 5 selection in the first round.

Here is how to watch the 2025 WNBA draft, including time, date, location, and draft order:

When is WNBA draft?

The 2025 WNBA draft will be held on Monday, April 14. All 13 teams, including the expansion Golden State Valkyries, will navigate three rounds of picks, with major trades and high drama a near certainty.

Where will 2025 WNBA draft be held?

The WNBA draft will be held at the Shed, a cultural center and exhibition space in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards neighborhood of New York.
