Key information for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race at Iowa

by August 3, 2025
by August 3, 2025

It’s getting close to crunch time for playoff seeding in the NASCAR Cup Series. This week in Iowa Speedway marks four races to go until the 10-race postseason kicks off at Darlington Raceway.

Further down the order, Ty Gibbs finished 21st to win NASCAR’s inaugural in-season challenge over Ty Dillon.

The grid heads to another oval this week but one that’s quite different from Indianapolis. Iowa Speedway is a short track oval with relatively low banking compared to many others on the calendar. It’s a new track – last year was the first NASCAR Cup Series race there – but it compares relatively well to longtime NASCAR mainstay Richmond Raceway.

Wallace is the latest driver to secure his spot in the playoffs. So far, 13 of the 16 spots have been clinched; three remain in play with four races to go. Here’s everything you need to know to get ready for the Iowa Corn 350 powered by Ethanol at Iowa Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 3.
